UC is an extremely painful disease that causes inflammation and ulcers in the lining of the rectum and colon that bleed and produce pus. This causes the colon to empty frequently, causing cramping, diarrhea and loss of blood.

UC is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). UC can be treated with drugs, but for many it will end up with total removal of the colon and possibly the rectum. I was one of those.
